“The crossing went well because it was my first crossing, because I have never been on a sailboat so I could not have better conditions. The sea was fortunately flat. My mates were a bit of a handful for me because they are very experienced in sailing and so I felt comfortable right away, at ease, a good feeling was created among the crew, and I was also able to rest a few hours because I had to acclimatize being the first time. Beautiful, the scenery is really fabulous, I’m really very happy with this experience, it’s getting better and better every day, really.”

I have had the opportunity to participate as a cyclist in a number of sports competitions, but this one of IL GIRO DEI VENTI was incredible in every sporting and emotional aspect. At first I thought it was a competition like any other, but instead the combination of cycling and sailing gave me a way to discover a world unknown to me, to do completely new activities, all in a beautiful landscape setting, breathtaking sunrises and sunsets. Experiencing sailing for five days together with new friends and lifelong friends, being encouraged for the bike race by people far from your world reciprocating the next day’s exertions, united to reach the same goal.”
